JEAN CAMILO

Jean grew up in Cali, Colombia, raised in a dangerous part of the city. She became a first-generation American at the age of 11, and recently graduated from Pratt Institute with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree focused on illustration.

As a kid she saw the world mostly through screens, obsessing over documentaries on prehistoric creatures and ancient civilizations that continue to inspire her work. Drawing on her experiences, she takes special interest in the aesthetics of horror, surrealism and queerness as seen through the lens of mass media culture.
