JEAN CAMILO

Jean Camilo Pereanez-Bermeo — also known as “Gatorator” — is a Colombian-American mixed-media artist and illustrator based in Northwest New Jersey.

Guided by a punk ethos, most of her work explores myth-making, spirituality, class, monstrosity and queerness through mutating bodies, vibrant colors and bold mark-making. She finds her greatest inspiration in horrific, surrealist and expressionist art of all kinds.

She holds a BFA in Illustration from Pratt Institute, and is currently working as a freelance illustrator. On her personal time she can be found hanging out with her husband and their three beautiful cats, doodling at the nearest museum, or watching/playing/reading something scary.
